Construction of the Bromelton Offstream Storage facility remains on track for early completion by the middle of the year, despite flooding of the Logan River in early January.
A construction team of 80 staff worked around the clock until Christmas excavating the site, with bulk earthworks now complete, and work continuing on the pump station.
The pump station, located on the Logan River, will work by pumping water from high flow events in the Logan River to the storage through an underground pipeline.
Four pumps will be used to provide flexibility on the amount of water that will be pumped, with one of the pumps working in isolation for smaller flow events, or two to four pumps working in combination when a higher volume of water is extracted.
