Business Opportunities

Local companies stand to boost their bottom line as a result of the proposed Traveston Crossing Dam, with QWI setting up a voluntary register for local business suppliers and services.

QWI is developing a local business capability database as part of the required approval processes involved in the dam's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Based on the Burnett River’s Paradise Dam, at least 600 suppliers will be needed for the Traveston Crossing Dam project, with an expected 240 suppliers or about 40% to be sourced locally. The dam is also expected to create between 500-800 jobs, with about 150-200 workers sourced locally.
