Business Opportunities

The proposed Wyaralong Dam, Cedar Grove Weir and Bromelton Offstream Storage will provide local companies with an opportunity to boost their bottom line, with QWI setting up a voluntary register for local business suppliers and services.

QWI is developing a local business capability database as part of the required approval processes involved in the proposed Wyaralong Dam's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Based on the experience of the Burnett River’s Paradise Dam, at least 400 suppliers will be needed for the Wyaralong Dam project, with an expected 40 percent to be sourced locally. The dam is also expected to create over 300 jobs with 30-40% to be sourced locally.
